The Institute maintains this policy to (sort of) preserve the integrity of our exams.
Definition of Cheating
The Institute considers the following acts as "cheating":
- Googling the answers (you won't find them anyway)
- Having AI solve it for you (AI will probably be confused too)
- Consulting a friend (if your friend knows about this exam, they should take it too)
- Staring at the screen and willing the correct answer into existence (effectiveness unconfirmed)
- Predicting exam content in your dreams (please report this to us instead)
- Achieving philosophical enlightenment mid-exam and acing everything (that's just skill)
Penalties for Violations
- 1st1st offense: A mental "we're disappointed" message from the Institute
- 2nd2nd offense: A subtle decline in the Institute's trust in you
- 3rd3rd offense: Nothing in particular (we have no authority to punish anyone)
- 4th+4th offense and beyond: At this point you're a regular. Want a job here?
Monitoring System
Our exam monitoring system relies 100% on the examinee's conscience. We employ zero technical anti-cheat measures. In other words, your integrity is all we've got. No pressure, but please take the exam as if your grandmother is watching.
Commitment to Fairness
The Institute promises to provide equally meaningless certifications to all examinees. Regardless of race, gender, age, occupation, or favorite food, everyone has an equal right to fail (and to pass, of course).
Reporting Cheating
If you witness cheating... well, just pretend you didn't see anything. We have neither the staff nor the budget to investigate. That said, we deeply appreciate your sense of justice.
